The Power Rangers are back with brand new episodes of Power Rangers Super Megaforce! The latest installment in the series features the teenagers with attitude facing off against a full alien invasion force, bent on taking over the Earth! The new Rangers won’t have to face evil alone, because this season will feature the return of 10 Legendary Rangers from the past 20 years! One of the returning Veteran Rangers is Jason Faunt, better known as Wes Collins – The Red Time Force Ranger! This special appearance has been in the works for awhile now, and Jason was kind enough to speak with us during Comic-Con about returning to the franchise, and what he took away from his time on the show. We hope you enjoy this exclusive interview!

CO: So it’s no longer a secret that you are returning to Power Rangers for Super Megaforce, can you talk about your experience returning to the series as Wes?

JF: It was great. It was cool to go out to New Zealand, and the current cast is fun to work with. It was just great to be a part of the franchise again.

CO: Now you haven’t been back since the 10th Anniversary episode, “Forever Red”, so are we going to get to find out what Wes has been up to since your last appearance?

JF: You’re gonna have to watch the show in the fall…but you can never get too much Wes. You’ll have to see what happens.

CO: Before you were brought back for the episode, what did you personally think happened to Wes after Time Force?

JF: Well we know he ran the Silver Guardians with Eric (Time Force Quantum Ranger), but I would hope there would become closure with Jen (Time Force Pink Ranger). Everyone always asks me what happened with Jen. I think that he and Jenn got back together and ended up running his dad’s company.

CO: Not only are you returning for this special, but you are also joined by several Legendary Rangers. Can you tell us more about the process of working with these other former Rangers?

JF: You know what, it was a lot of people. We weren’t sure if the dynamic would work and how we would all fit in. I had only met a couple of them before, but it was a bonding experience. Power Rangers is like a fraternity. Once we all came out there, everyone just clicked and we got along great. It was a real great experience.

CO: What was the biggest draw for you personally to return to the franchise?

JF: Power Rangers has been so good to me, so it was great to be back and be a part of the family. The biggest draw was my relationship with them and I was happy to do it.

CO: As an actor, what did you learn or take away from your time on the series?

JF: When I first started there, I had limited experience. It was such a great training ground as an actor. To be there every day, being on set and learning to hit your mark…It was a great way to learn.

Q: Time Force was also considered one of the darker of the Power Rangers installments, especially with 9/11 having happened while the show was airing. I know that they had to restructure some of the episodes. Was that a little surreal dealing with that element as it was happening, or was it outside of your view?

JF: I don’t know… I guess it was kinda outside of our view. I remember certain things were filmed before 9/11 happened, and they had to go back and erase retain things that had happened that we’re eerily similar. It was just above our heads at the time.

CO: Fans have been closely watching and waiting for anything relating to this special episode to be released. It has been great seeing the pictures that Jason David Frank has been posting from the set. Speaking as a fan, it has been very exciting to see the shots of you and the rest of the Legendary Rangers return to be a part of this celebration, and we hope you know how much we appreciate that.

JF: Oh I appreciate it man. We loved it and we had a great time doing it. You guys will see some special stuff coming up.

Special thanks to Jason Faunt and our friends at Saban Entertainment for arranging this interview.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
