When you were a little kid, did you ever dream of doing something incredible? Like being able to fly, or make a device to teleport you from one place to another? Well, I did.  I wanted to make a teleportation device (just like Star Trek) so that I will never be late for school, or so I can go to Japan and take sword fighting lessons. Maybe I’d go to a distant planet and meet an actual alien race.  As a child, or a person that has the heart of one (basically every man in the world), anything is possible. So long as you can dream it, it will come true.

I have always been a fan of an inspirational films, and Tomorrowland is such a movie. A story about a boy named Frank Walker, played by George Clooney. (Ocean’s 11 and O Brother, Where Art Thou)  had a dream of being a great inventor. He went to the World’s Fair, to show the judges a jet pack that he had created.  In doing so he was invited to join a special community that is out of this world.

During the present time, a lot of negative things were happening in the world, such as hurricanes and earthquakes. But Frank invented a device that could tell you what was gonna happen, after inventing this device it showed when the world will end. The reason for this outcome was that the people of the world was destroying it, not only through physical destruction but also with everyone’s negative thinking.

Years later, there came a girl, Casey Newton, played by Britt Robertson (Power Rangers Time Force and Avalon High) who is intelligent, resourceful and with the heart of a true dreamer. Casey knows in her heart that anything and everything is possible. That is why she was the key to Frank’s greatest invention.

Athena, played by Raffey Cassidy (Snow with and the huntsman and Dark Shadow), who happens to be the one that recruits both Frank and Casey. Helps them save the world from its own destruction, which is being orchestrated by Governor Nix, played by Hugh Laurie (Monsters vs Aliens and House MD)

Disney has always been great, in inspiring both children and adult alike.  As a person who still (at heart) see’s the world that everything is possible.  Tomorrowland is an example of adventure and dreams can come true, as long as you believe and work hard for it.  This Blu-Ray/DVD combo is a great addition to your collection. With the Direction of Brad Bird (The Incredibles and Ratatouille) and the talents of George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy, Hugh Laurie, and Tim McGraw (Blindside), you have yourself a great film to watch with your family on the couch with a bucket of popcorn. If the movie is still not enough, then you will love the hours of special features such as the Animated Short: The Origins of Plus Ultra (The story of how Tomorrowland came to be), or the Deleted scenes with filmmaker intros, which I always love to watch. Then there is the behind the scenes of the film making process and how they got the cast for the movie, and so much more.

Tomorrowland is such a fascinating movie. I loved watching it, especially with my daughter. When I saw her eyes light up as she watched it, it brought me joy. Not only did she enjoyed it, but she also wanted to start thinking of ideas that she can create to help the world. Tomorrowland brought that inspiration to her and bringing joy to me. It brought me back to my childhood days when I dreamed of inventing and wanting to see all the possibilities that the world is capable of. That and George Clooney still looks good.
