SDCC 2017: The Comic-Concert After Party Returns on July 23rd!

SAN DIEGO! Come celebrate surviving another year at Comic-Con with your friends at ComicsOnline for The Eighth Annual San Diego Comic-Concert After Party!

The event will take place at Whiskey Girl (702 5th Avenue, San Diego) on

Sunday, July 23rd at 6pm.

No Cover. 21+ only.

San Diego’s own Random Gibberish: Musical Comedy and Geek Rock will take the stage for an evening filled with pop-culture entertainment and a 90s Childhood Sing-Along. They will also be releasing their 2017 single “Hear Me Roar”, which is their musical tribute to Voltron.

If you have expereinced their shows in the past, you already know that the band has a history of bringing surprise talent from the convention by for cameos, and we might have a few special guests making their way down for 2017 as well.

The event will also feature a special guest appearance from Jon St. John (best known as the voice of Duke Nukem).

Jon’s 30 plus years as a radio personality and production manager provided him with all the tools and training to become a top notch audio producer.

Proficient with many editing programs, he has worked sound design for Nickelodeon, produced albums for comedians and music acts, created jingles for numerous clients, and is himself and musician and singer.

The reach of Jon’s vocal talent extends beyond video games released worldwide…

He also provides voices for international concert tours both on radio and television, he appears at conventions around the world, and is heard as character voices at theme parks in the USA and Ireland.

The event will also feature a Costume Contest (with prizes from Warner Archive and I Know That Voice!), and other surprises from ComicsOnline.

Special thanks to our friends at Comickaze – ClaremontPalm Springs Comic-Con Year Two, Warner Archive, and I Know That Voice! for their support.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
