Manga Review: One Piece Volume 1, Romance Dawn

“I’m gonna be the KING of the PIRATES!!!”
Gold Rogers had it all, he had fame, power and money. Before he was executed, these where his final words. “My treasure? Why, it’s right where I left it...It’s yours if you can find it...but you’ll have to search the WHOLE WORLD!”. Now pirates from across the world are searching for the treasure that can make their dreams come true.
Interview and Movie Review for The Collector
Friday night was an event filled evening with a special screening of The Collector and preceded by an interview with Writer Patrick Melton, writer/director Marcus Dunstan, both involved with Feast and Saw IV, V VI, and the films star Josh Stewart.

I have to admit, as I did to them, that my agenda was to meet the men who put Henry Rollins in pink sweats (Feast). Patrick and Marcus admitted that this was actually a concession to the rating, as the script originally called for his pants to be torn off by the creatures and to be nude. Twice. They talked about his intensity and work ethic, how he showed up on time and prepared.
Comic-Con 2009: Pictures From Around the Booths Part I

San Diego Comic-Con 2009 had more than its share of exhibitors this year, from the standard fare to the truly unique; here are a few of the booths and vendors the 2009 Comic-Con had to offer:

New from Roddenberry Presents

Promoting Stargate Universe

Comic-Con 2009: Pictures From Around the Booths Part II

More pictures from around the booths at the San Diego Comic-Con 2009. I found this booth particularly amusing, Star Trek themed perfumes. The fragrance Khaaann was exclusive to the Con, but it was the Red Shirt ad that I really loved; Red Shirt Cologne, Because Tomorrow May Never Come!

This display is HUGE! Several people could actually have fit in this cockpit.
SDCC The Lost Panel

When we first arrived on Saturday, we thought there was no absolute way we'd get into the LOST panel. In the past few years people have camped out the night before, and we saw these unfortunate souls on the way home on Friday. However, upon coming up to Hall H, it was actually not nearly as long as we feared so we got in line. Everyone was very excited, as you can see.

Matt and Kroze had a very particular reason to be happy, as we found out later on in the panel.

Then we all took turns making ugly Jackfaces.
Pictures from SDCC!
Here's some pictures of the floor and the costumes!

Comic-Con 2009: A Few More Costumes
I know, I know, we had an entire team dedicated to taking costume pictures this year. Even knowing this, I still couldn't resist snapping a few myself. The costumes were everywhere, from the Washington Street trolley station Thursday morning to the post-con parties Sunday night.
And of course, the requisite Con staple; Star Wars costumes!
SDCC Pictures from the Balcony
We got onto the interview balcony and saw a few stars come in and out for pictures. First up are a series of pictures from the Tron Legacy stars, including Olivia Wilde, Jeff Bridges, and Garrett Hedlund.

SDCC Pictures from Green Lantern and Batman/Superman
I got a chance to sit in for some round table discussions with the Green Lantern: First Flight crew and the Batman/Superman: Public Enemies cast. Here's a few pictures from them and more information about each will be forthcoming.
First up is writer of Green Lantern: First Flight Alan Burnett!

Next is director of Green Lantern and Wonder Woman, Lauren Montgomery.

Voice of Labella in Green Lantern and former Buffy the Vampire guest star, Juliet Landau!

SDCC Fringe Panel

Fringe had quite a fanbase at San Diego Comic Con this year, because not only was the line very long and the room completely full, but the fans were very much a part of the panel itself. The Fringe crew thought it would be fun to have a trivia game running, so that for every question a fan asked them, they asked a question of the audience. They seemed remarkably surprised every time a very enthusiastic fan screamed out the answer, faster than they had time to recognize it! The questions got progressively more difficult and detailed, yet the fans came through every time. That speaks more to the loyalty of their viewers than anything else at the panel, and the Fringe cast seemed very pleased.
