My Leverage 4x09 Review

The opening to this episode was a bit different than other episode which is a good thing. Instead of seeing how the client gets in trouble first thing, you see the team coming back from their recent job. While coming through the lobby of the airport, Nate Ford scans the crowd and sees a con in progress. In the process, he sees a woman looking a bit out of a place who because the new client. She is a nurse, transporting a heart to a child in the Cincinnati hospital. The team finds out that someone took Linda’s daughter in order to force her to give them the heart.

A few impressions from SDCC 2011

It has come and gone so fast - San Diego Comic Con 2011 -  and once again it was a blast!

Without further ado, here are some of my personal favorite moments:

Wednesday (Preview night) I had to geek out on anything Battlestar Galactica, of course..

Nice little 'Viper' model!

Thursday I attended the only panel that had anything to do with Battlestar Galactica, "So Say we all", hosted by Richard Hatch. It also had Michael Taylor and Dr Kevin Grazier (BG science consultant) in attendance. A surprise guest was actress Lili Bordan from the upcoming 'Blood and Chrome' pilot.

10 Things I learned from being a Zombie on a movie set

A few weeks ago, I played a zombie in a short film called ‘Zombie Man‘ (by Solar Light Films). You might have read about my make-up test here.

It was a really fun and crazy shoot, but I also learned a few valuable lessons, which I am happy to share with you all.

Forget about what you should do in a Zombie Apocalypse! Most of us already know – if you don’t, just google it!

The following is what I’ve learned from playing a ZOMBIE on a film set in a nature preserve for one day.

Pay close attention and take heed! You’ll thank me later.

ComicBookGrrl: DC Comics Cuts Half its Staff

DC Comics cuts 20% of its staff, proving once again that greed isn’t just good…it’s legal.

As we sink further into the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression of the 1930s, many of us have learned a painful lesson: we’re expendable.

If you’re one of the millions working in the middle class, you’re likely overworked, underpaid, and stressed beyond belief about the possibility of being fired (that is, if you’re lucky enough to still have a job).

This is the face of the recession, plain and simple.

Machette what started as a prop trailer in Grid House has spawn to full rollcoaster !

Director Robert Rodriguez has done it, he's turn what was a prop trailer from his Grid-House feature into a full thisted rollcoaster ride. This being Danny Trejo "Machette" a man betrayed, exiled, and used by his organization. Left to die, but from his rage spawns an un-stopable legend against Drug lords, corrupt police, genocidial militia, and a corrupt politician. Also along the way the Machette befriends and shows compassion with the ladies such as; Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, and Lindsay Lohan. And besides his tender side he certaily knows how to take down the beast in this film with a cutting edge....."Machette".

CC2010 Futurama Signing

For the third day of Con, Futurama was the main attraction for us.  The cast showed up and signed pictures for some of their biggest fans. Billy West, John Di Maggio, Maurice LaMarche, Phil LaMarr and Lauren Tom were the actors to appear, and they are probably the most recognized and loved out of the whole cast. They were all so very nice and really great to talk to. They loved the fact that so many people have watched the show since they were younger and look up to the actors.

CC2010: Costume Commentary

Here's one of the most dysfunctional groups we saw at ComicCon Saturday. You can just hear the costume conversation:

"Hey, let's all go as the new Alice in Wonderland!"
"COOL!! Nobody else will think of that!"
"I want to be the White Queen!"
"Ok fine, I'll be the Red Queen - I get the best makeup!"
"I want to be Alice!"
"I want to be the Mad Hatter!"
"But I wanted to be Johnny Depp!"
"No! I called it first!"
"But my hat is bigger thank yours!"
"Fine. Forget this shit - I'll be Sweeney Todd!"

But the drama didn't end there ... Overheard the Mad Hatter say "Cheshire? Where are youuuu? Get over here and stop tarting it up with that other Alice!"

CC2010: Braaaaaaaiiiiiinnnnnnsssss

After a grueling day of battling the hordes at ComicCon, we were ready for a nice relaxing meal. We slowly made our way over to the Blue Point on 5th to meet up with some out of town friends NOT in town for ComicCon.

We settled into our fantastic outside table and were enjoying our martinis and mojitos when I heard my friend from Denver gasp and exclaim "What the hell is that?!"

I looked up to see the 4th Annual San Diego Zombie Walk ambling by in all their gory, bloody, gutsy glory; immediately regretting my recently ordered medium rare steak.

Over the course of our meal no less than a thousand zombies hungrily passed by not only groaning for our brains but a few even reached out for my man's perfect dirty, wet martini. My kinda zombie!
