Based on a true story
Inspiration for a Cartoon
I based Mom Critter on my wife Tracy, and Latuda from my daughter. Tracy pulled out the photo albums a week or so ago, and it was the sweetest bonding moment in a moment of calm around the busy, chaotic high school graduation. Photo albums are a dying but treasured artifact, a victim of social media and the Information Age that we should all rescue! They are also great to pull out when an offspring brings a potential partner home to meet the parents.
Notice the hand-drawn picture of Latuda on the cover. This cartoon strip started as notes in my wife and daughter’s lunches. I drew on sticky notes, and first started posting the posted notes in 2019. It was fun to go through my old doodles and add them to my new doodles! Keep your first efforts, aspiring artists!
