The mysterious Jaeger steps up his attacks on Marshall and everyone he loves in the latest chapter of Radiant Black. With Marshall and Eva’s apartment compromised by the new villain, the heroes are forced to take some desperate actions to move the battle elsewhere. Despite Marshall’s best efforts to be the hero, Jaeger and his forces are convinced that he is a threat based on the timeline they experienced. Jaeger believes there is no good that can come from his presence, and a new ultimatum is offered: leave or die. That threat becomes all too real as the creative team leaves readers with one of the most evil cliffhangers to date… All will become clear as you read this chapter lovingly titled “Jaeger Bomb.”

Since the beginning, Radiant Black has been a book about choices, and I love that we are getting to see the dark side of those choices coming to fruition with the “Rebuild Era”. The battle between Jaeger, Radiant Black, and Radiant Pink was wonderfully choreographed, showcasing engaging action across indoor and outdoor environments (I loved the chase to get the villain out of the apartment). Kudos to the team for how cinematic that ultimatum sequence turned out, as it really established the credibility of this new threat.

Radiant Black’s “Rebuild Era” has begun, and BOLD is an understatement. Sure, you could use this as the perfect jump-on point, but you also could get Radiant Black: Volumes 1-6 (now available at your local comic store) to get the full story.

Rating: ★★★★½
ComicsOnline gives Radiant Black #34 – 4.5 out of 5 impactful new threats to the Massive-Verse.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
