Volunteers > Heroes

When stationed in Alaska, I gave a short speech on why volunteers were better than heroes at a Volunteer Appreciation Day. The other two speakers just said some informal words, and I blew them away with a carefully written speech. It was an awesome day.

First Draft

I posted the original version of this comic strip on December 11, 2020. The superheroes are out, well, superheroing? That’s Kilroy and Mammoth’s version of the Fastball Special. If you don’t know what the Fastball Special is, we can still be friends, but your Wolverine Fan status is seriously in question.

Critter Coloring by Connor

Thank you, Connor! You smurfed those Critters! Did you know Connor’s rock star mom is an official Critters Model? You could be, too! Check out the below Redbubble link to be like Ashley!

Critter merchandise is for sale on Redbubble. Look for the JoeIconic store. All proceeds go to buying more stickers, temporary tattoos, and make coloring pages for the children who come through our local crisis charity! Critter fans send Critter Sightings from Amsterdam to Charleston to London to Alaska. I post Critter Sightings on social media on the weekends, sometimes. You can also donate via https://ko-fi.com/joeiconic .

#NotesforTracy is an all ages comicstrip, inspired from people and happenings in my life. The Critters deal with anxiety, small town superheroes, gym rats, preschool capers, and SO many dad jokes! This comic strip started as doodles on sticky pad notes, and the audience includes family, friends, and now a growing #CritterTribe!
