Dragon Chow
This comic strip is a homage to one of my main inspirations to start drawing comic strips. I drew inspiration from this book to submit my first comic strips to my school newsletter when I was in middle school. My best friend, the late, great Tim Dobson, lettered the comic strips, because his handwriting was better. And done while riding the bus home from school.

I still owned a copy of this book!
First Draft

This comic strip was originally posted on December 16, 2000! Notice Spike was not yellow yet. Due to an accident with some Simpson’s cream, Spike and Norville became yellow, and Latuda and her friends pretended not to notice.

Originally posted February 26, 2021! The first drawings were in black and white, so my daughter had a completely different idea of the colors of the critters when I started adding pencil to the comics. I finally changed Spike and Larry to her way cooler design ideas, and had to have a reason why “in-world.” That is also what I tell my guest artists to come up with their own colors when they color their fan art!
Scary Larry stuck to the ceiling was fun; I may have to put that on my list of comic strips to revisit/revise. Stayed tuned to see if I get around to it!
