This latest chapter once again features Wonder Robin as she continues her time-travel search for Robin-Corgi (yes, Damien Wayne and Jon Kent were turned into Corgis…just go with it). Her chase leads her to Wayne Manor just before the Wedding of the Bat and the Cat, leading her to encounter one of the most beloved members of the Bat-Family: Alfred! While the faithful butler is preparing for the joyous occasion, he receives a massive exposition dump from the young heroine and seamlessly reacts to the situation without skipping a beat. Can this new dynamic duo find the missing pup before the day goes off the rails? Find out at your local comic book store today!
I had the pleasure of reading this chapter several weeks ago, and although I loved the Lizzie/Jason Todd story, this one has become my new favorite. Alfred’s engagement with Wonder Robin is an absolute joy to read, and the way the Bat-Family adapts to this unique situation is so overwhelmingly positive that it will make you grin from ear to ear. After careful consideration, I think the reason that I’m enjoying Trinity’s adventures so much is thanks to how grounded and genuine the stories are. “The Wedding and the Corgi” is filled with precious moments that demonstrate her growth as a character, and having these revelations come as a result of interacting with characters throughout DC’s history makes them even more impactful. Lizzie has a profound impact on the people around her, and this time, Alfred gets an incredible moment in the spotlight. I truly hope that this book gets the recognition it deserves when it comes to award season.
