When snow falls in 1892 on a Christmas Eve it’s supposed to be magical, but when strange snowmen that come to life threaten humankind it turns into a living nightmare. Following the departure of the Ponds, the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) seems lost. Just when he is about to give up hope, he gets some help of old friends and a very curios Governess named Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman, Captain America: The First Avenger). Can The Doctor rally to the occasion and save the day on Christmas once more?

TV Review: Game of Thrones 3×9 “The Rains of Castamere”

Chelsea and Jachelle see the notorious episode of Game of Thrones featuring the Red Wedding. It is a topic that book fans have been waiting for since 2000, and TV fans were not prepared at all. Look on the internet for the various funny reaction posts to this episode. It’s worth it. But for now join the heartbroken writing duo as they accept nothing will be happy again.

Blu-ray Review: Adventure Time: The Complete First and Second Seasons

Sprung forth from the mind of series creator, Pendleton Ward, Adventure Time follows the amazing adventures of a couple of the coolest heroes this side of Lumpy Space. Join up with righteous Finn the human and his BFF Jake, as they traverse the Land of Ooo saving princesses, kicking monster butt, and doing battle with the nefarious Ice King.

TV Review: Grimm Season Two

Chelsea delves into the NBC show Grimm after it finished its second season. Nick Burkhardt is both a cop and a supernatural hunter known as a “Grimm.” Unlike his ancestors, he’s decided to make friends with some of the Wesen he’s supposed to be hunting. In the second season of the show, Nick has to juggle his concern over his ill girlfriend, his rising rivalry with his boss, and saving the city from rampaging Wesen. It’s all in a day’s work for a world weary Grimm.

TV Review: Game of Thrones “Second Sons”

Chelsea and Jachelle talk in detail about their favorite and least favorite parts of Game of Thrones episode “Second Sons.” It’s time for a royal wedding, only this one is between Sansa and Tyrion. Neither of them want to be there, but somehow it becomes a hilariously uncomfortable scene. There’s blood leeches (ew), inappropriate bath scenes, and Sam the Slayer. Countdown to the end: two more episodes.

Movie Review: After Earth

Jayden Smith (The Karate Kid) takes center stage in After Earth, playing the role of Kitai Raige. Having failed his Ranger exam, Kitai is sent home to tell his parents of his failure. Movie Review: Another View of Star Trek Into Darkness

Chelsea Doyle gives a second opinion about Star Trek Into Darkness, utilizing her Trekkie fangirling and love for the history of the industry. There will be major spoilers in this review for the past movies and the current one, so approach with caution. Was this a great follow-up to the successful 2009 movie? Will the Enterprise fly once more? Share your opinion on our Facebook and sit down, grab a cup of coffee, and read at your leisure.

TV Review: The X-Files 1×9 “Space”

Chelsea continues her first viewing of The X-Files, the only major geeky television show she missed the boat completely on. This episode is about a NASA project gone wrong, and Scully and Mulder investigating a strange possession of an astronaut. Unfortunately it’s not a very good episode, but it’s season one. They had plenty of time to get their feet under them and progress from here.

TV Review: Arrested Development: Season Four

In 2006, FOX made a grievous error when it cancelled one of the most original and entertaining comedies that it had on its Sunday night lineup. I am of course referring to the Emmy Award Winning series Arrested Development, created by comedic genius Mitch Hurtwitz. After the series was cut short during what was believed to be its third and final season, fans clamored for more antics of the Bluth Family. Many years passed, and we were told by Hurwitz himself to remain hopeful, as plans for a potential movie were underway. In 2011, the fans’ prayers were answered when it was announced that Netflix would become a new home for the Bluths, and it would even be footing the bill for a new season worth of episodes! How could this epic news get any better? We also learned that all of the installments of the new season would be released at once, defying conventional television releases. The time has finally arrived and the entire Bluth family is back in action. Get ready, because it is time for more Arrested Development!

Blu-ray Review: Beautiful Creatures

From director Richard LaGravenese (P.S. I Love You) comes Beautiful Creatures, a story about young love and secrets. It’s love at first sight when small town Ethan Wate (Alden Ehrenreich – Stoker) meets the girl of his dreams Lena Duchannes (Alice Englert – In Fear). Unfortunately, Lena is a Caster and her dark secret comes with a curse that threatens to separate them forever.  Now you can own Beautiful Creatures on Blu-ray!

Blu-ray Review: LEGO: Batman The Movie – DC Super Heroes Unite

Wow. That’s all I can say after seeing this work of pure GENIUS. The great minds behind Warner Premier who have brought us the entire line of DC Animated movies that have come out over the past 5 years have teamed up with LEGO for possibly their greatest and newest direct to home video release: LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Superheroes Unite, now available to own on Blu-ray, DVD, On Demand, and for Digital Download. It is the funniest thing I have ever seen involving the massive cast of DC Comics characters done to date and because of which, it shines brightly by bringing all of these characters together into a storm of self aware humor that hasn’t been seen in a official production before.

Blu-ray Review: Captain America: Collectors Edition

When I was a kid, there were a couple of movies that I could watch countlessly – and, finally, one of these movies is available to own on Blu-ray: Captain America: Collectors Edition. Now, you might be confused about the Blu-ray release, since Captain America was just released by Marvel Studios in the last few years. The movie that I am referring to was originally planned to be a Theatrically Released Live Action Captain America movie (slated to be in theaters in 1990), but instead, ended up being a Direct-To-Video release in 1992. Maybe you have heard of it, or maybe you haven’t…Either way, I cannot begin to say how excited I was to hear about this release (I burnt out two copies of the film on VHS while growing up). While it might not be remembered as t he greatest Marvel adaptation ever, I think Captain America: Collectors Editor on Blu-ray stands on its own as being a fun (yet campier) take on the legacy of our hero in the red, white, and blue.

Movie Review: Fast and Furious 6

Wuv…true wuv… Some sequels of cool originals just shouldn’t be made.  The Boondock Saints II, The Hangover II (and now III), G.I. Joe: Retaliation.  The Fast and Furious franchise somehow doesn’t fit that bill, ridiculous as it is.  Director Justin…

TV Review: Doctor Who 7×14 “The Name of the Doctor”

Chelsea looks into the season seven finale of Doctor Who and whether it managed to salvage a roller coaster of a season in terms of quality. Vastra, Jenny, Strax, and River Song join the Doctor and Clara on their last big adventure (for now): to see the grave of the Doctor himself. When his friends are captured by mysterious enemies, the Doctor is willing to visit the place he should never go and face the Great Intelligence. Clara’s mystery is solved, and we’re introduced to a strange new character played by a very welcome face.
