Inspiration for a Cartoon
My daughter actually did this, but to be fair, I probably have tried to “embiggen” a printed picture before. That plugged-in life will train your brain!
I leaned into the old cartoons for the photos again. I used SOME of my pandemic time well, and experimented beyond the sticky notes doodles with pen and pencil coloring. The “photos” that you can almost see are old cartoons posted around 2020. Note the dragon! Foreshadowing for future comic strips? Stay tuned and find out!
Churros and Critters!

My daughter has left for college life/the so-called “real world” so we have an empty nest for the first time in nearly 19 years. So sometimes we go and just get dessert (and decaf coffee, if they have it!) Thank you to Alice & Kevin, who suggested ending evenings on one of vacation adventures (in London and Amsterdam) with desserts, decaf coffee, and reflections. Tracy recommended I add a critter or two, and post on Google Reviews, Instagram, and Facebook as part of my vague guerrilla marketing of the Critters and the comic strips. The above picture is from Don Pepe’s new building. Churros and Critters! This Mexican restaurant is in rural Pelion, South Carolina, and never disappoints!
Critter merchandise is for sale on Redbubble. Look for the JoeIconic store. All proceeds go to buying more stickers, temporary tattoos, and make coloring pages for the children who come through our local crisis charity! Critter fans send Critter Sightings from Amsterdam to Charleston to London to Alaska. I post Critter Sightings on social media on the weekends, sometimes. You can also donate via https://ko-fi.com/joeiconic .
This “Director’s Cut” of the cartoons is exclusively on ComicsOnline.com! Come back to ComicsOnline for Critters, Comic Book Reviews, and Everything Geek Pop Culture!
