“Because I’m Happy” is the perfect title for this particular chapter. I had the pleasure of reading an advance copy of Green Lantern #24 a few weeks ago, and every time I think about this particular issue, it just warms my heart. From the interactions between Hal and Carol to the adventures of Kyle’s “team” in deep space, there is a lot to love about this book. The pacing and interplay between the two narratives are expertly balanced, allowing the story to move at a brisk pace. All of those character moments are icing on the cake for the big surprise, and the connections back to the adventures from Green Lantern: The Animated Series are simply phenomenal. You might think you know where things are going, but I assure you, you are in for a surprise. I was grinning from ear to ear with the reveal on the final page, and I genuinely can’t wait to see how this new piece of the puzzle fits into the larger cosmic tapestry of the Green Lantern story.

The story itself is fantastic, but compliments must be made to Xermanico and Romulo, as the art and color palette are just killer. From the space station to the prison, everything about the settings feels grounded with purpose and history. Beyond the final page, there is another mid-chapter splash page that is one of my new favorites, as a classic GL villain makes a shocking appearance.

There are so many incredible comics on the shelves these days, but Green Lantern never fails to impress. Thanks to the work of this creative team, it’s hard not to love everything about this book. If I were you, I would grab a copy of Green Lantern #24 as soon as possible. Big things are coming, and you won’t want to miss out on this installment in the Fractured Spectrum Saga.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
