Unboxing: “Morphin Edition” – Featuring Power Rangers: Beast Morphers!

by Matt Sernaker, Managing Editor

It’s Morphin Time! The Power Rangers have returned for the latest iteration of the hit series, and this time, it will be up to the Beast Morphers to save the day! With the acquisition of the Power Rangers Franchise (and toy rights) in 2018, fans have been anxiously waiting to see what Hasbro would do with the brand as a whole. Power Rangers: Beast Morphers is a fresh new take on the colorful teenagers with attitude, and ComicsOnline is pleased to share this special “first look” at what we can expect from the upcoming toy line. With a bit of help from Junior Reporter Nathan, we wanted to share a look at the free preview package that we received from our friends at Hasbro.

Check out the video below:

First Impressions

I am very impressed with the quality of the first wave of Hasbro Power Rangers: Beast Morphers toys. I grew up playing with the Bandai Power Rangers toys, and the thought that went into these new toys is apparent from the moment you open the box. The 6″ Figure Line is well articulated and the detail will make fans (new and old) extremely happy. Like other Hasbro action figures, these toys are extremely poseable and feature show accurate colors and enhancements. The Beast-X Morpher is the perfect addition to any collection, and the interactive lighting and audio components will help kids of all ages to become their favorite Power Ranger (sorry parents, it will always be Morphin Time). The Micro Morpher toys were fun little collectables and reminded me a bit of old school Micro Machines. The Beast Racer Zord was a cool toy for kids that want to re-enact scenes from the show, but it unfortunately does not have any transforming components. If you are a Zord collector, you might want to wait for the next iteration that allows for combination, as this one is definitely designed more for kids and playing specifically. The biggest winner of the batch (at least for me personally) was the Cheetah Beast Blaster. The fact that this is a NERF blaster and a Power Rangers product makes the kid in me very happy, and I will say that it was quite powerful for its size.

Overall

Hasbro has a big win right out of the gate with their first wave of Power Rangers toys. After having these in my hands, I can say that the future of the Power Rangers franchise is extremely bright and full of new potential. Power Rangers: Beast Morphers toys are starting to hit the shelves now, so be sure to check them out when you can.

Special thanks again to Hasbro for sending these free products.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
