TV News: Majel Barrett Roddenberry Meets The Final Frontier

Majel Barrett Roddenberry passed away this morning, December 18, 2008, at 12:27 AM in her Bel Air home. She died peacefully, in her sleep, and was surrounded by family and loved ones.

“My mother truly acknowledged and appreciated the fact that Star Trek fans played a vital role in keeping the Roddenberry dream alive for the past 42 years. It was her love for the fans, and their love in return, that kept her going for so long after my father passed away.” – Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry, Jr.

Think Over

No more Stevenote! šŸ™ Macworld Expo might as well just fold up altogether after this year. I’m really bummed I’m going to miss the last one, moreso that it seems I’ve already missed the last Stevenote. This is a sad, sad thing for old school Mac heads like me.

TV News: EXCLUSIVE: Spectacular Spider-Man: Season 2 Production Update

ComicsOnline is pleased to share EXCLUSIVE Information regarding Sony’s Spectacular Spider-Man: Season 2!

Supervising Director/Supervising Producer Victor Cook was kind enough to share some information about what we can expect in season 2 and what lies ahead for our hero:

We’ve posted about half of season 2 so far (editing, music sound effects).

We have Ock, Sandman all the favorite bad guys coming back. Plus the premieres of villains we didn’t see in season one!-and the premiere of villains we didn’t tease at last comic con.

The first four episodes are full on winter, Dec-Jan. The third episode of season 2 is Christmas. The composers did some fun stuff in that one.

The snow covered city looks great! The animated falling snow also looks great!

We showed a snippet of the Kraven episode at San Diego, that whole episode is now complete and done– it looks fantastic!

Gift Guides 2008: Horror

The holidays are upon us, and with the season comes the hassle of shopping for those pesky gifts. Well hereā€˜s a quick guide of the best horror I saw this year.

1. The Zombie Diaries – This is my #1 pick of the year for the horror genre. An innovative, small budget film from England, where monsters meet monsters.

2. Wizard of Gore – For the fan of the off-beat, surreal plot that needs to be watched more that once to be comprehended. And every time you watch thereā€™s something new still. If you liked Videodrome, youā€™ll love this.

3. Diary of the Dead – The latest offering from the maestro, George Romero, this flick gives another prospective of the beginning of the outbreak. Actually I was hooked at George Romero.

4. Mother of Tears – Another flick from across the pond, this time Italy offers up itā€˜s own brand of horror through Dario Argento. Witchcraft, medieval killing devices, and Asia Argento, yippee ti yo ki yay.
