ComicsOnline kicked off 2026 by reading a TON of comics. There’s a lot to talk about, and we wanted to highlight some of our picks for the week of February 4th, 2026.

Ultimate Endgame #2
Rating:

by Kevin Gaussoin
Official Synopsis: THE END HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN! The heroes of the Ultimate Universe — including Spider-Man, America Chavez, Killmonger and Doom — desperately search for a way to stop the Maker. Plus, Iron Lad makes a stunning and heartbreaking discovery that could change the fate of the entire Ultimate Universe forever. Don’t miss this pivotal chapter that will leave you reeling!
Review:
Deniz Camp (with artists Terry & Rachel Dodson, Jonas Scharf, and Edgar Delgado) brings us back inside The Maker’s bubble once again to show us just how fuxored everyone actually is in the 6160 Ultimate Marvel Universe. In the terms of the old Marvel Super Heroes RPG, The Maker successfully rolled a black feat and power stunted the hell out of the entire in-bubble environment by infecting every atom with part of himself. Tony’s father (not Reed’s in this universe) is Immortus and even he is living on literal borrowed time. Trotting out Death’s Head as a foil for the gravity of this situation was a genius bit of counterpoint, especially since this universe’s Peter Parker never became the wisecracker that we’re used to. But what does all this mean for our heroes?
Ultimate Endgame is a wild ride through the 6160 Ultimate Marvel Universe and Issue 2 may not even be the nadir of our hopes for our heroes. They are probably hosed. The are certainly Doomed. How do you even write your way out of this, Deniz Camp?

Batman #6
Rating:

by Matt Sernaker
Official Synopsis: After he survives the date night from hell, the long night isn’t over for Bruce Wayne. While he juggles multiple needs as Bruce, Hugo Strange’s Monster Men attack a petrochemical facility and force Batman into action. Gotham City becomes a powder keg as superstars Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez continue their acclaimed run on the Caped Crusader.
Review: The fallout from the previous issue leads to a slew of new dynamics in Gotham City, and I’m not just talking about that cliffhanger! While Batman deals with the ramifications of Dr. Zeller meeting Damien, the rest of the city goes through extreme turmoil with yet another villain making a move. Hugo Strange unleashes monstrous new creations, and it’s up to the Dark Knight to save the day. As if Batman doesn’t have enough happening in a single day, a key member of the Bat-Family makes a life-changing decision that will surely surprise readers.
It’s hard not to love everything about this Batman run. Every few pages, you’ll come across a panel that is so utterly perfect that you’ll think it’s your new favorite, only to be confronted with another one even more stunning shortly after. Jimenez is delivering career defining art, and it’s no wonder why his pages are selling the way they are. The colors from Tomeu Morey pack one hell of a punch, and you can’t help but love the visuals of the latest suit. I thought I had seen Fraction’s A-Game with his previous books, but his writing on Batman is a whole new level for him. The energy coming out of this book is nuts, and I love how excited I am to get a new issue of this caliber in my hands each month.

DC K.O.: Boss Battle #1
Rating:

by Matt Sernaker
Official Synopsis: TO SAVE OUR WORLD, THEY MUST BATTLE THE CHAMPIONS OF OTHER WORLDS! Unexpected fighters from beyond the DC Universe enter the arena! Wait… What? WHO?! As the remaining champions in the K.O. tournament prepare for the final rounds, they discover that there isn’t enough Omega energy left to crown the winner a King Omega. To have any hope of stopping Darkseid, they’ll need to engage in combat with the champions of other worlds beyond our own including Annabelle, Homelander, Sub-Zero, and more! This shocking, star-studded crossover sets the stage for the final chapters of the epic DC K.O. event and features matchups you never imagined possible. The ultimate battle is only beginning!
Review: It is beyond astounding that this comic even exists. So many leaders at different publishers had to say yes and see the potential here, and I think it’s a true testament to how the team at DC is crushing it in the comic world.
In the midst of DC K.O., the remaining four participant are about to hit a critical stage in their journey to stop Darkseid. When the Worldforger realizes the level of power needed for this next phase, he enacts a plan to help our players gather entry energy from unlikely sources. Portals to other universes are now open, and a crazy side quest is about to begin! With special guest appearances by characters from Red Sonja, Mortal Kombat, The Boys, Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, Annabelle, Vamperiella, and more, this issue is stacked with shocking battles that we are beyond lucky to experience as comic book readers. The story and action are balanced with precision, giving us what could be our first glimpse into more collaborations between publishers. It’s hard to pick a favorite battle, but it might be a tie between Lex vs Samantha and Joker vs Annabelle. It’s amazing what can happen when there is trust between creatives, and this book is sure to make a lot of people very happy. Shoutout to Jeremy Adams for his trifecta of DC K.O. one-shots, and congratulations to the entire creative team and the leaders at these publishers for helping to make this issue a reality.

Inferno Girl Red: Book Two #3
Rating:

by Matt Sernaker
Official Synopsis: Inferno Girl Red gone, Team IGR fractured, and The Twins embracing horrifying new forms. Is this the end for Apex City? As IGR’s ultimate enemy finally steps into view, a fateful decision will change the destiny of Team IGR forever! Don’t miss the stunning conclusion of INFERNO GIRL RED: BOOK TWO! 45 story pages!
Review: Cássia’s latest arc closes out with an explosive issue! Between the cosmic adventures, crazy new super villains, and the surprising team-ups, it’s clear that Inferno Girl Red’s journey is really just getting started. As Book Two comes to a end, we get to experience a lot more of IGR’s world and explore more about the history of the character. The writing is great, the art is gorgeous, but it’s always the color choices in this book that hit me the hardest. The color palette always feels bold and I’m reminded of this with each new issue. Inferno Girl Red will return, but the next chapter can’t come soon enough.

Amazing Spider-Man #21 (LGY#985)
Rating:

by Kevin Gaussoin
Official Synopsis:
Norman really did intend to listen to the other Spider-Heroes’ request that he hang up the costume after his initial violent attempts at heroism. But a deadly attack by a SPIDER-SLAYER while at a diner with Peter’s boss, MAIRA OSMANI-MILTON, pushed him back into the red, web and blues. Then a horde of Spider-Slayers, repurposed as GOBLIN-SLAYERS, showed up at Oscorp looking to eradicate the Goblin legacy—including Norman! And as if things weren’t already bad enough, HOBGOBLIN was revealed to be backing the entire operation! The arrival of the other Spider-Heroes seemed to turn the battle in Norman’s favor—but just as he was getting the hang of leading his team, he was critically wounded and a new wave of Goblin-Slayers burst through the wall…
Review:
As Amazing Spider-Man swings toward it’s thousandth issue (September 2, if my math is correct) we have been loving the biweekly Joe Kelly extravaganza, no matter if a particular issue’s artist is John Romita Jr, Pepe Larraz, or Todd Nauck. This week, the Norman Osborn story arc finally comes to a climax, and the moment we’ve all been waiting for is here! But I’m not gonna spoil which one! This story could have easily gone another way, but to paraphrase, “You did great, Joe Kelly. You did great.”
