ComicsOnline kicked off 2026 by reading a TON of comics. There’s a lot to talk about, and we wanted to highlight some of our picks for the week of February 18th, 2026.

Wonder Woman #30
Rating:

by Matt Sernaker
Official Synopsis: With Wonder Woman on the mend, the Amazons have taken charge of her child and future heir to the throne of Themyscira. But when conflict breaks out over Trinity’s future, Queen Nubia struggles to keep the peace. Who or what could be sowing these seeds of discord? Find out in the thrilling finale of this two-part tale!
Review: As much as I love the current creative team working on Wonder Woman, there is no denying that this interim team has done an impressive job in a very short amount of time. These last two issues haven’t skipped a beat, and the family/community dynamics have been fun to explore. These chapters defied the typical “filler issue” stigma, providing a story that felt very much in line with the main themes from the ongoing book while complementing the narrative with a distinct style. It’s an absolute pleasure to say that both chapters get a 5/5 from the ComicsOnline team.

The Amazing Spider-Man #22
Rating:

by Matt Sernaker
Official Synopsis: TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE! The era of space/earth Spider-Men comes to an end and everyone is left to pick up the pieces. We are about to enter DEATH SPIRAL so Spidey better take a deep, deep breath.
Review: So…that’s it for the outer space adventures, huh? The rush to wrap this arc up and move on to the next event just leaves readers with crazy whiplash that is too much to overlook. If you’ve been following our reviews, you’ll have noticed that we really enjoyed the space narrative more than expected, but everything in The Amazing Spider-Man #22 just feels like a speed run to get Peter back to Earth and into the red-and-blue webbing before the Death Spiral event kicks off. I think that I’ll miss the positive tone from the space adventures most of all. Depressing Peter is getting old.

Ultimate Spider-Man #24
Rating:

by Matt Sernaker
Official Synopsis: THE END OF THE LINE! This is it, folks — the last you’ll see of Spidey and his Ultimate friends by Jonathan Hickman & Marco Checchetto! That’s all we can tell you!
Review: Hickman & Checchetto wrap up a 24-issue run with an amazing, spectacular, sensational, and dare I say, superior finale that will leave readers wanting more from THIS incarnation of Spider-Man. Ultimate Spider-Man is everything that we’ve been asking for as readers, but sadly, this story has come to an end. Almost every main element gets a semblance of closure, but you have to wonder what might have come next if Marvel hadn’t opted to shut down the Ultimate Universe project. This issue felt big across the board and seamlessly stuck the superhero landing that we hoped to see. We will miss you Ultimate Spider-Man.

Captain America #7 (Legacy #778)
Rating:

by Josh Powell
Official Synopsis: A CAPTAIN’S CRUSADE! Red Hulk’s fear of a second Doctor Doom rising from the ashes of Latveria spurs him into taking drastic action, just as Captain America discovers there are those within the war-torn country who see a path to a brighter future. Can Captain America bring their dream within reach, or are there too many forces stacked against him?
Review: Captain America #778 (we are in a legacy-only zone here) continues an interesting story by Chip Zdarsky about what happens when Dr. Doom dips out to parts unknown (as he not uncommonly does), this time long enough for factions to form vying for control of the kingdom. Meanwhile all the other nations on earth don’t really care who wins just so long as none of them get their hands the cornucopia of WMDs that have just gotta be littering the basement of Castle Doomenstein. Enter Captain America leading a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. weapons inspectors trying to keep a lid on the situation while incidentally being hounded by General Metaphorical America in the person of Thunderhulk Ross who thinks the prudent thing to do is just smash the whole place to dust. It’s enough to make even a Sentinel of Liberty scratch his head, so Cap does- what else?- the democratic thing and rubs elbows with the common Latverian to get his head together just in time to receive some startling new intel about the leader of the most sympathetic faction, throwing everything into confusion again. Diaz & Alpizar handle the art chores in Doom’s Shadow- Pt. 2.

Dungeons of Doom #2
Rating:

by Josh Powell
Official Synopsis: DUNGEON CRAWLERS! As warring global factions struggle for control of Latveria, an attack by Red Hulk traps them all together in Doom’s most secret, most forbidden dungeons. Desperately searching for a path to the surface, they discover horrors Doom never intended to be found: The Eye of Khonshu. The Skull-Shaped Herb. The Hammer of Treachery. And a mutant creature so dangerous, even Charles Xavier knew it could never be set free. These forbidden discoveries breed horrors that poison alliances, pollute bodies and souls and threaten to release powers that even DOOM knew must always be hidden.
Review: The companion title Dungeons of Doom #2 examines what happens when various non-S.H.I.E.L.D.-affiliated parties turn out to have already gone spelunking for magic items in the treacherous mazes beneath the city. Both the title and the setup sound like an old D&D module, so in honor of the Stranger Things finale, here’s a query for all you old-school gamers out there: What happens when your DM lets you unearth an artifact that has way more ability points than you have levels? No need to EBay up an old copy of a 1st edition Dungeon Master’s Guide- The answer is, the campaign turns to shit and you roll up a new character! Check out this issue by Philip Kennedy Johnson & Ben Purdy for several examples of just how!
