Comic Book Reviews: Week of 4/01/2026

ComicsOnline kicked off 2026 by reading a TON of comics. There’s a lot to talk about, and we wanted to highlight some of our picks for the week of April 1st, 2026.

Daredevil #1
Rating: ★★★★★
by Matt Sernaker

Official Synopsis: YOU CAN BURY THE BODIES, BUT NEVER THE GHOSTS! Hell’s Kitchen is full of secrets — but no secret stays buried for long! As a fearsome new super villain named OMEN has targeted MATT MURDOCK, it will be his alter-ego DAREDEVIL who takes the hits! BUT BEWARE! This mysterious new player isn’t all that they appear — a secret Daredevil will have to learn quickly as he scrambles to settle into a life and status-quo we’ve NEVER SEEN HIM IN BEFORE! Look alive, Marvelites, an all-new and unprecedented era of DAREDEVIL starts right here!

Review: It might be April Fool’s Day, but the launch of the new Daredevil ongoing is NO JOKE! A new creative team and a new status quo shakes things up in a stellar new direction for the Man Without Fear. Matt’s been through a lot over the years, but now he will take on one of the most daunting challenges yet: teaching law school! Can Mr. Murdock survive the teaching experience? Oh, and it wouldn’t be a new Daredevil story if someone wasn’t attempting to kill him before the end of the first chapter.

DD has always been one of my favorites, and I genuinely loved every single element of this new launch. Perfect voice, perfect art style, and a perfect entry for new readers. This is an automatic add to my pull list. The new creative team scored a knockout with this debut.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
