SDCC 2010: Friday’s Adventures!
Friday at Comicon was, for me, slightly less eventful than Thursday, being unable to get into any panels that I wanted to. So I ended up spending the few hours I was there trying to cover the convention floor and finish scouring out who was going to be there and what booths I’d still like to come back later. It’s crazy that it took just over two days to see everything, but I still love every minute I’m there.
CC2010: Futurama Panel
Futurama made an amazing appearance to ballroom 20 on Saturday to a very packed audience. The show has just picked up 26 new half hour episodes on Comedy Central. Fry, Leela and the gang are ready to conquer the future on Thursday 10/9c.
CC2010: Costume Commentary
Here's one of the most dysfunctional groups we saw at ComicCon Saturday. You can just hear the costume conversation:
"Hey, let's all go as the new Alice in Wonderland!"
"COOL!! Nobody else will think of that!"
"I want to be the White Queen!"
"Ok fine, I'll be the Red Queen – I get the best makeup!"
"I want to be Alice!"
"I want to be the Mad Hatter!"
"But I wanted to be Johnny Depp!"
"No! I called it first!"
"But my hat is bigger thank yours!"
"Fine. Forget this shit – I'll be Sweeney Todd!"
But the drama didn't end there … Overheard the Mad Hatter say "Cheshire? Where are youuuu? Get over here and stop tarting it up with that other Alice!"
CC2010: Braaaaaaaiiiiiinnnnnnsssss

After a grueling day of battling the hordes at ComicCon, we were ready for a nice relaxing meal. We slowly made our way over to the Blue Point on 5th to meet up with some out of town friends NOT in town for ComicCon.
We settled into our fantastic outside table and were enjoying our martinis and mojitos when I heard my friend from Denver gasp and exclaim "What the hell is that?!"
I looked up to see the 4th Annual San Diego Zombie Walk ambling by in all their gory, bloody, gutsy glory; immediately regretting my recently ordered medium rare steak.
Over the course of our meal no less than a thousand zombies hungrily passed by not only groaning for our brains but a few even reached out for my man's perfect dirty, wet martini. My kinda zombie!
DVD Review: G.I. Joe: The Movie

"Do as you're told like an obedient lackey!"
After the opening credits to G.I. Joe: The Movie, with possibly the most obnoxious earworm of a theme song ever playing in the background, we see a masked woman appear from the water and basically kick ass all the way through Serpentor’s army until she’s face-to-face with the serpent master himself. Who is this woman and what does she want from Cobra?
CC2010: CHUCK PANEL (SPOILER ALERT)
The lights dim inside of Ballroom 20 on Saturday morning. The atmosphere inside was charged with anticipation. The crowd went wild as images of Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) and the rest of the team Chuck filled the giant screen. They…
CC2010: Nathan Fillion’s Surprise Visit
The second day of Comic-Con officially went by without a moment to waste. People were streaming in like crazy, lines going all the way down the trolley station. The Dealer floor was packed with famous people and big Smurfs walking down the hall. The day didn't get exciting until I accidentally bumped into Nathan Fillion as he was fleeing the Browncoats booth. He was quickly trying to sign everyone's things as he was trying to leave and was trying to make sure everyone who'd bought one of the Serenity comics to benefit the Kids Need to Read organization got theirs signed. I found out later that he had come unannounced and no one knew where he was going or when he was going to be back. It was nice to see an actor from a great television show come down without telling anyone.
CC2010: GOW Ghost of Sparta will kick your ass!

At the God of War panel today, Sony and Ready at Dawn Studios showed off some amazing new footage of the upcoming PSP exclusive God of War: Ghost of Sparta. Taking place in between the events of the first and second game, the team promises more of the classic GOW gameplay we love along with more of Kratos back story. The team showed off two separate demos of Gameplay footage with the first taking place at the beginning of the game and the second taking place further along in the game.
CC2010: Highlights from Chuck Panel

With Comic-Con 2010 in full swing, ComicsOnline was on scene at the Chuck panel (exclusive video interviews to come of course) and here are our bullet point list of the revelations for Chuck Season 4 and what went on in the panel…
CC2010: Twisted Metal is back!
Today the Twisted Metal panel offered a glimpse of what when the series gets a reboot next year. For starters, David Jaffe, the founder of developer Eat Sleep Play revealed to the crowd that they would be using live actors for the cut scenes and story-telling elements within the game. This time, they are primarily focusing on three main characters for the campaign – Sweet Tooth, Dollface, and Mr. Grimm – with three separate endings for each character. The Preacher would also be involved in the story, but may not be a playable character at the start of the game.
The footage of the live action portions here is extremely rough and taken with a small digital camera.
CC2010: Thursday- Adventures on the Con Floor
Although there was so much I wanted to get done on Thursday, a string of events made it near impossible to get to the convention center before 2:00pm. However, what I did manage to get through was definitely exciting! No panels got seen, but a thorough walkthrough of about half the convention center got done.
CC2010: Partying with Jill Thompson

What a find for us lucky ComicsOnline personnel! On the way back from Comic-Con, we came across a party being hosted by the kind and gracious Threadless clothing company. Nomad spotted Jill Thompson, the writer and illustrator of Little Endless Storybook. We all danced with her to a combination of modern and 80's dance music. It was nice to know that Jill was able to let loose and enjoy herself.
