What happens when rap artists stop rapping and start acting? Well if you’re Queen Latifah and L L Cool J, you’ve become accomplished actors and together star in the romantic comedy Last Holiday

Last Holiday stars Queen Latifah (Beauty Shop) as Georgia Bird, a mild mannered cookware representative at a local New Orleans department store. Also in New Orleans is Rochelle (Jane Adams – Orange County), teenage neighbor Darius (Jascha Washington – Big Mama’s House 2) and her secret crush, Sean Matthews (LL Cool J – Rollerball). After hitting her head and getting a CAT Scan, she’s informed that she has an incurable condition and has three weeks to live. Two predictable events occur, Georgia cuts loose, and the problem is misdiagnosed. The rest is a pleasant surprise, while staying in an extravagant, winter resort. She meets the owner of the department store, Matthew Kragen (Timothy Hutton – Leverage), his mistress Ms Burns (Alicia Witt – Law and Order: Criminal Intent), her district’s Senator Dillings (Giancarlo Esposito – Racing Daylight) and the staff of the hotel, including Chef Didier (Gerard Depardieu – Green Card).

Last Holiday is a flick whose theme has been done over and over. What makes this one different is it isn’t the typical slapstick comedy, but a true feel good, warm and fuzzy, happy ending, romance. No pratfalls, just a well written script, and some great acting.
