DVD Review: The All New Super Friends Hour Season 1 Vol. 2

Remember a simpler time? A time before Frank Miller made Batman “The Dark Knight”? Before Aquaman lost his hand in a bizarre fishing accident? A time before Wonder woman killed a man, and everyone else has died and been resurrected (mostly)? Welcome to 1977 and The All New Super Friends Hour: Season 1 Vol. 2.

This collection of episodes centers on the team-ups of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, with Aquaman, and Green Lantern. And don’t forget the Wonder Twins Jan and Jayna. The all New Super friends Hour: Season 1 Vol. 2 is a mix of super baddies, some known some not, taken care of the super-heroes, and regular misfortunes, solved by the twins. And between the episodes are snippets of puzzles and positive messages for the kids.

Special Features are :

The Wonder Twins Phenomenon: Jan and Jayna’s Impact On Pop Culture

So let’s look at this set; the animation is 32 years old, the stories lack the major villains of the heroes’ storylines, and, well, let’s face it, they’re clean, wholesome, light-hearted, and fun. Yes, fun, family fun, the perfect vehicle for young children to be introduced to the world of superheroes, right under the noses of their mothers. And besides, shows like this are just so gosh-darn fun.

ComicsOnline gives The All New Super Friends Hour: Season 1 Vol. 2 5 wholesome heroes out of 5
