DVD Review: Jing King of Bandits, Seventh Heaven OVA

“These stripes look pretty faltering on me.”

Jing is a teenage boy who calls him self King of Bandits, but Jing isn’t alone, he always has his best fried named Kir, a bird that can become a weapon. Jing and Kir have ben friend sense they were kids and if Kir attaches him self to Jing’s arm and they can shoot burst of green enginery . Even though Jing calls him self the King of Bandits and is a thief, he still has a senesce of honor. Jing is similar Lupin The III, because both Lupin and Jing are still good even tho they do bad things. One of the things that separates Jing from Lupin is that Jing steals for collecting purposes and Lupin steals for money.

Highlights

As the sirens blow, the large prison transport lizard car heads toward the Seventh Heaven prison. The prize prisoner in it is none other than Jing, King of Bandits and his fine feathered friend, Kir. Now how could the boy who stole time itself get caught and sent to prison, you mite ask. Well there are two reasons, First this is no ordinary prison, this is Seventh Heaven, the worlds most horrible prison and second Jing wants to be capture. Inside Seventh Heaven is a great treasure of lost dreams sealed in Dream Orbs. Now in a place that both dreams and reality come to gather, Jing will have to be carful or he might be killed.

“1 thing’s fore sure, you won’t get 2 comfortable, sure you get 3 hots and a cot, but there are always 4 walls holding you in, not 5 minutes go by without some guard reminding you got deep 6’ed. Welcome to asylum number 7”

The saying above is used to describe Seventh Heaven and all of it’s horrors. Part of the reason that Seventh Heaven is so horrible, is that it is under command of the most nasty and unpleasant Warden named Maraschino, who is obsessed with bats and has a giant statue of himself. Maraschino and Jing don’t really get along, so Jing smashes the head on his statue twice. Dream Orbs didn’t just so happen to get in to Seventh Heaven on by accent, the Wizard named Campari, who created the dream orbs isn’t the best guy so he got arrested and sent to Seventh Heaven. Campari is from a lost tribe called the Acations. The Acations where destroyed by the Bearded Men and when Campari came back to his village and saw the destruction, he could no longer dream so he stole the dreams of others. Campari would create Dream Orbs when he would crystalize dream he had stolen. Each dream orb has a different dream sealed in side of it. With the ability to grant any dream, Dream Orbs are worth a great deal of money so that’s why Jing is after them. “The dream, is not yet over.”

Parts Part One: Lost in Seventh Heaven Part
Two: Dream in Seventh Heaven
Part Three: Awake in Seventh Heaven

Overview

This OVA series is just as good as the original series. The action is awesome, with giant monster, extremely comical explosions and destruction. The romances are wonderful, from the first girl, of many, to like Jing, Kir’s pointless romances, and a love so strong that saves them all. All of the other stuff is important to make a good anime, but this is Jing King of the Bandits, so there hast to be a lot of comedy like a giant flying DoDo bird, a smoking baby angel guard with a shot gun and and much much more. The extras include a Production Gallery, Trailers and DVD credits. This is a funny anime, I think that almost anyone would enjoy this OVA series.

ComicsOnline gives Jing King of Bandits: Seventh Heaven OVA 5 out of 5 Dream Orbs
