Blu-ray Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 25th Ann. Movie Collection

Cowabunga dudes! To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Franchise, Warner Brothers has just released ALL 4 TMNT Movies on Blu-ray! This is the first time the original live action movies have made their way to Blu-ray. These classics from our childhood have been captured in HD for the first time and I can easily say that they look amazing!

It is very important to point out that the case for this set isn't your typical Blu-ray box…it's actually made out of a pizza box!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles- The Movie
The first movie introduces us to Leo, Don, Mikey, Raph and Splinter as well as their history with the villainous Shredder and his footclan. With a little help from their new friends April O'Neil and Casey Jones, the Turtles are able to save the day and stop Shredder!

Special Features-

Sneak Peek! TMNT: Smash-Up Game For Wii

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II- The Secret of the Ooze
The Turtles are back! When the secret of their mutation is discovered, the Turtles act quickly to stop that secret from falling into the wrong hands…but they are too late! The Shredder is back and has new plans to fight our heroes. With his newly created mutants, Toka and Raza, Shredder might be unstoppable. Maybe a quick musical number from Vanilla Ice will stop him! Go Ninja Go Ninja Go!

TMNT
TMNT, the first non-live action film in the series, takes place a few years after Turtles in Time. The Turtles after drifted apart and things haven't been the same. Leo is training somewhere in South America, Don is doing IT work, Mikey is working as a party clown, and Raph has become a crime fighting vigilante. When an ancient evil threatens New York, the Turtles must reunite or all is lost!

Special Features-

Commentary by Writer/Director Kevin Munroe
TMNT: Voice Talent First Look
Mikey's Birthday Party Full Sequence

This special edition set also includes a TMNT Comic Book, Radical Beanie Hat, 8 TMNT Character Cards.

Overall-
This is a great set for an TMNT fan. The movies look and sound better than ever. This isn't your typical set in any shape or form. The added novelty of the pizza box, along with the extras go a long way to make this set worthwhile.

ComicsOnline gives the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 25th Anniversary Movie Collection 5 out of 5 reasons that I LOVE BEING A TURTLE!

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
