ABC green lights a full season pickup (22 episodes) for the new series.

S.H.I.E.L.D. ranks as the No. 1 new show of the 2013-14 TV season among the 18-49 demo (averaging a 4.0 rating that swells to 5.7 with Live+3 DVR playback factored in). The adventure-drama did 7.9 mil and a 2.9, edging out NCIS for the No. 2 spot at 8 o’clock.
