Acclaimed creator Maria Llovet (Faithless, Heartbeat, Loud) is at it again. Llovet’s art style is best described as tantalizing, adrenaline-saturated sex. Llovet is always very cheeky, colorful, and come-hither with her words and art. I’m an especially devoted fan of her detailed full lips. To me they seem like manga twists with roots in European style. You are drawn into the lips as you read them.

For those of you who enjoy a good steamy romance novel, this is the vibe. Much to the campus students’ chagrin, they all woke up with a new app called Crave installed on their phones. Tell the app what you ‘crave’ and it gives you instructions and likelihood of achieving your desire. I love how the conversations dance around the steamy provocative nature of the app, Crave, while still pointing out about the real world dangers and pitfalls of social media.

Crave #1 features several references to social media addiction and the fabricated lives people portray online. I wonder how that will influence this six issue series. I’m also curious what the new dynamic of crestfallen Charlotte and dick driven David will be. I don’t think she’s stable. Especially since David started receiving arousing bondage pictures he ‘Craved’ from a girl he’s been in love with long before he met Charlotte. 

Don’t mind me, I’ll just be here biting my lip, anxiously waiting until the next issue comes out. I know I’ll be asking for Crave #2‘s B cover…
