The former Green/Yellow Lantern has launched a massive attack on Earth, and it is once again up to Hal Jordan to fly in and save the day. The stolen drones pose a massive threat to humanity, but with some creative maneuvering from our favorite ring-slinger, we might just stand a chance of making it through the day in one piece. When Sinestro’s true motivations become clear, Hal takes a very different approach to save the planet: words. That’s right, a clever speech might just make all the difference and stop a massive power-up from the former master of fear. Unfortunately for Hal, it looks like Sinestro’s desperation to escape the quarantine zone around Earth has caused a new development…RAGE.

If you’ve been reading ComicsOnline, you know that I am a massive fan of Green Lantern. Green Lantern #5 is an absolute win and perfectly captures everything great about the character. Adams’ has displayed his keen understanding of Hal and his world in just a few short issues, and the latest release feels like the icing on the cake. I haven’t enjoyed a GL book this much since Geoff Johns completed his run, and I’m genuinely excited to read each new chapter as they become available. Xermánico keeps delivering insanely stunning pages, with numerous character moments leaping off the page. The shot of Hal racing to Las Vegas is absolutely my favorite page of this installment, but the final sequence leading to Hal’s direct confrontation is a close second. Fajardo’s colors are exemplary as well, with vivid tones that beautifully bring the world of Green Lantern world to life.

Sinestro has a rage powered ring…and we should all be a bit nervous about what will happen next. Thanks to the teaser, we also know that readers will be getting more information about Hal’s exile from space in the next issue, so you have plenty of reasons to pick up this book.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
