Some of my favorite comics have been the ones that have caught me off guard, and Alan Scott: The Green Lantern #3 falls into that category. I had never really been interested in The Spectre as a character, even during his time attached to Hal Jordan, but that changed with this issue. Some things just click really well, and in the case of an Alan Scott/Spectre team-up, Sheridan delivers a take that feels fresh and extremely engaging. As Alan struggles to solve the mystery and resolve his own inner turmoil, he inadvertently ends up working with someone who could provide him with grounded clarity. I loved the dynamic that they were able to provide us with, and I would absolutely buy a book with them doing a deep-dive with the character (along with an Alan Scott ongoing of course).

The creative team of Alan Scott: The Green Lantern takes the story to the next level with this latest chapter. Aside from the surprising dynamic duo, this issue provided readers with a shocking revelation about the Red Lantern. No spoilers, but the twist was executed with style. Tormey, Herms, & Sotomayor continue to provide us with page after page of gorgeous designs and colors, all of which is complimented by solid lettering work from Gattoni. Don’t miss out on one of DC’s best books. Grab your copy this week at your local comic book store.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
