I talk to quite a few of the small presses at Comic Con, and the majority has nothing new or interesting to hook me with. Most seem to have very little in the long range plan department, tell me how to buy their stuff on line, or are simply rehashes of someone else’s good idea. So I ran across an interesting small press booth while wandering aimlessly around the floor. This booth was shared by two publishers, Students of the Unusual and Visionary Comics.

Movie News: Simon Bisley Poster For Centurion Released
In anticipation of the nationwide theatrical release of Neil Marshall’s latest thriller, Centurion, Magnolia Pictures has tapped renowned British comics artist Simon Bisley to create a one of a kind poster featuring the film’s main characters played by Michael Fassbender and Olga Kurylenko.
This is the first time Bisley has created a piece of art for a motion picture. He is best known for his 1990s work on ABC Warriors, Lobo and Sláine; his style, reliant on paints, acrylics, inks and multiple mediums, and takes inspiration from rock album covers and graffiti, as well as traditional comics art.

Comic-Con 2010: Spotlight on Stan Lee
In true Stan Lee fashion this entire article should consist of various tangents and non-sequiturs, completely ignoring this year's “Spotlight on Stan Lee” panel. Alas, ComicsOnline's main focus is covering geek pop culture, and since there isn't a single (human) geek icon more recognizable than Smilin' Stan Lee, the panel must be reported on. The skrull that took Stan Lee's place in 1976 did not disappoint and walked on stage doing the best caricature of himself he could muster. He jumped from topic to topic like a bottomless Plinko board, completely ignoring the questions asked by the panel's moderator, Todd McFarlane.
