Anime DVD Review: Black Butler, Season One
According to our new arrival, life is more than mere survival.
He cooks. He cleans. He kills. The debonair Sebastian may not be Mr. Belvedere, but to his young and fragile master Ciel Phantomhive, he is certainly one hell of a butler. For Sebastian’s array of talents are not exactly God-given. Sebastian is an akuma shitsuji: a devil butler.

You don’t know what a woot-off is? It’s where Woot sells one product at a time until they sell out, then they move on the the next item, while all the while everyone just wants to buy a Bandolier of Carrots or a Box of Chorizo. If that doesn’t make sense yet, maybe you better read all about the great deals they have.

DVD Review: Stag Night
Over 100,00 people are reported missing in New York City every year. The adults are never looked for…
In olden times, the night prior to his wedding, the young groom would be sent off into the forest to kill and bring home a stag, to prove he could provide for his family. Now it’s about proving your manhood through imbibing massive quantities of alcohol, and looking at strange, naked women. How dangerous can a night out with friends be?
Can Patrick Rothfuss and Nathan Fillion Revive Firefly?
photos courtesy Patrick Rothfuss
By Brenda Waldrop
Patrick Rothfuss, author of the international best seller “The Name of The Wind”, and the highly anticipated sequel, “The Wise Man’s Fear”, to be released March 1st, 2011, recently posted an “Open Letter to Nathan Fillion” on his website, suggesting they team up to bring back Firefly!
Ok, it’s a bit more complex than that; in the letter Rothfuss mentions a recent interview Fillion gave to EW.com where he quotes Nathan as saying:
“If I got $300 million from the California Lottery, the first thing I would do is buy the rights to Firefly, make it on my own, and distribute it on the Internet”
DVD Review: The Superhero Squad Show: Quest for the Infinity Sword- Volume 3
Hero up, Squaddies!
By Morgan Barrett
The Superhero Squad Show is an action-packed, family-friendly show (with a kick-ass theme song) full of Marvel’s classic superheroes and villains. In Volume 3 (now available on DVD), the greatest heroes unite in search of the missing fragments of the Infinity Sword. The show is full of nutty characters and witty humor as the world’s greatest superheroes prevent Dr. Doom and his hysterically evil minions from completing the Infinity Sword.
Volume 3 features everything from silly love spells to mayhem at Mutant High.
Movie Review: Hall Pass
Meet best friends Rick (Owen Wilson) and Fred (Jason Sudeikis). These two men have been married to their wives for several years (played by Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate), but things start going downhill and drastic measures are taken. They are granted a “hall pass” by their wives, entitling them to one week of freedom to do whatever they desire, with absolutely no questions or penalties for their actions (though, little do the men know, the wives venture out to have some single-life-adventures of their own). This scenario is the setup for the new film Hall Pass, brought to you by the Farrelly Brothers (There’s Something About Mary). So how do Rick and Fred fare out in the real world of singledom?
