Manga Review: Beast Master volume 1
Yuiko Kubozuka has a problem. His name is Leo Aoi. He's sweet, funny, strong, loyal to a fault, and perhaps a little gullible. That, and when he smiles he's only the most handsome guy ever. So what if he's had a very complicated childhood, traveling all over the world. The problem is simple. Everyone thinks he's an insane bloodthirsty hooligan who will literally kill them all. Some days she can't imagine why they would think a silly thing like that? After all, he only looks exactly like an insane bloodthirsty hooligan when he's… not … smiling. Unfortunately for Yuiko, he only seems to smile when talking to her. How can she tame the beast?

Manga Review: Hikaru No Go Volume 17

Hikaru no Go is a gem. Pure and wonderful, from start to finish, the series is one of the most fantastic stories ever, deep and heart-warming, with incredible artwork to match. The premise is simple: in modern japan, a bored school-age brat stumbles upon a Go board (not unlike western civilization's Chess, in terms of complexity and dullness to the uninitiated) and becomes possessed by a master of the game from centuries past. Crazy stuff — like life — happens.

Manga Review: Kekkashi – Volume 19
Kekkashi is a shōnen action/comedy manga set in the present day where Yoshimori Sumimura, a lazy and stubborn middle school boy, and Tokine Yukimura, slightly older childhood friend of Yoshimori's who wants to protect him, are heirs of the Hazama clan. Yoshimori's Kekkai powers are strong and wild whereas Tokine's are subtle, but accurate. They protect the land and the power from demons. If a demon comes close to the power source, they become stronger as well; they eventually form an organization to do just that when their efforts are thwarted individually. In addition, clans also vie for power. Volume 19 begins such a power struggle between the Ogi clan and Sumimura clan.
