ComicsOnline kicked off 2026 by reading a TON of comics. There’s a lot to talk about, and we wanted to highlight some of our picks for the week of April 8th, 2026.

Power Rangers Prime #16
Rating:

by Matt Sernaker
Official Synopsis: It’s the final battle of the Prime Rangers! As Lauren comes to grips with the fact that her father has made a deal with the devil, the other Rangers take on the Legion Ravager, a challenge that will force them to put their differences aside and be the Rangers they truly are. Orion and Rita join forces to create their biggest magical feat yet, and we might just get a peek at Prime’s first full-fledged Zord! Follow along to the bitter end as the Prime Rangers save Earth one last time.
Review: And so, the time has come to face the final curtain. The Prime Rangers are forced to face corrupted versions of their peers, and not everyone is going to make it out of this battle in one piece. Earth stands at a crossroads, and with some unexpected help, hopefully our heroes can make it through this harrowing journey as the countdown to destruction comes to an end. Overall, the creative team found a way to put a nice bow on the current arc, but it is a tragedy that we aren’t getting to explore the full story of this team as originally intended. I’ve truly enjoyed the exploration of this new world and characters, and I think it is a massive loss to cut the book off at this point. For sixteen issues, the creative team offered a brave new world for Power Rangers, and I’m thankful for the attempt to move beyond the Mighty Morphin era to something original. The fact that we got a dark twist on both Zeo and Samurai Rangers in this final act was a welcome sight to see. Power Rangers Prime perfectly encapsulates all that is great about the franchise, and these characters will be missed.

Transformers #31
Rating:

by Matt Sernaker
Official Synopsis: THE SECRET OF MEGATRON REVEALED! Megatron has a vision that will change the course of his life. And no one in the Energon Universe is safe.
Review: Megatron’s dark past is explored in the latest Energon Universe installment. Just when you think you might know where the story is going, we get the patented “Robert Kirkman Twist” that changes the game entirely. I love how this creative team isn’t afraid to take the Transformers story into uncharted territory, and that willingness to go big continues to pay off for Skybound. Ludo Lullabi (Ghost Pepper) also debuts as the new artist for the book, seamlessly transitioning after the arc by fan-favorite Dan Mora. Mora’s style really hit home for me and worked well to help establish the Post-Daniel Warren Johnson era, but I’m pleased to say that Lullabi’s style really does complement the world of Transformers just as well.
