You know Comedy Central roasted Bob Saget, cause you saw the commercials interrupting while you were trying to watch The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and South Park.

I know, why would you bother watching this roast? I mean, Comedy Central has done some great roasts previous to this one. They roasted geek icon William Shatner and had an all-star panel of geek losers, they roasted Flava Flav and had all the funniest black comics they had contractually trapped into appearing. Unlike the roast of Pamela Anderson, this time Comedy Central couldn’t even get their roastee to wear a transparent shirt or get Courtney Love to drunkenly flash us. The most titillating thing we got this time is Cloris Leachman making out with John Stamos.

Bob Saget once called me at home. Seriously. True story. He asked me to come over to my friend John’s house. Bob explained that they were filming a pilot to a new reality TV show where he spends 24 hours a day for a week with a new family every episode, hoping for hilarity to ensue. I told Saget I had other things to do, so I couldn’t make it. Saget was so desperate to get me to come over to spice up the show, that he invited me to go shoe shopping in La Jolla with him and John’s sister. Like I was going to go “Oh, shoe shopping? In that case, I’m in!”

The above story had nothing to do with Comedy Central’s Roast of Bob Saget, but really I feel bad for them for spending the money to ship me this DVD so I thought you should get at least something mildly entertaining.

If you are desperate enough to pay to see third rate has-beens like John Stamos, Greg Giraldo, Jeff Garlin, Cloris Leachman, Norm Macdonald, Jim Norton, Gilbert Gottfried, Brian Posehn, Jon Lovitz, Susie Essman, or Jeffrey Ross, all telling dirty jokes on one stage, then this is the DVD for you! It even has a surprisingly reasonable amount of DVD extras including an extra long look at Jody Sweetin’s all grown up rack. And this time, you don’t need your DVR to put it in slo-mo. What? You know you wanted it.

These Extras are everything you’d expect and less, so I’m not even going to bother with further descriptions. Let’s just say that after you finish with the self love watching geek icon Scott Bakula, you can go back to the Sweetin part for round two.
