“So, why should you buy these movies?” you may ask yourself. For starters the original Friday The 13th movies are part of the beginning of the modern horror classic age. This film, and several others from about the same time, gave a new face to the modern horror genre, one that is still being used to this day. Another reason to own these is the re-mastering. These look and sound amazing in their new formats. The color saturation rivals the big screen, and while the sound may be mono Surround Sound it still stands out in clarity and depth. The Special Features standout from the standard deleted scenes and gag reels. You have convention panels with members of the first cast and crew, and a panel with four different Jasons. Cast and crew talk and reminisce about the making of their respective films. “Lost Tales from Camp Blood” is a serialized tale, which I assume will be carried on in future releases. Besides, where else can you see Kevin Bacon get an arrow through the throat. The 3-D is pretty cool also. I won’t bore you with the details of the films, because frankly everyone knows the story of Jason Vorhees, let it be known, these movies are a must in any collection.
