DVD Review: Batman vs Dracula / Batman-Superman Movie Double Feature

Two classic DC Animated projects have made their way to DVD as a Double Feature! The Batman-Superman Movie (aka World's Finest) and The Batman Vs Dracula are now available for your collection!

The Batman/Superman Movie
Batman and Superman Vs Joker and Lex Luthor. What more could any fan ask for? This TV movie brought Batman and Superman together for the first time in the DC Animated Universe (or DCAU as fans call it). When the Joker is down on his luck, he decides to go all out and take on the Man of Steel in return for a Billion Dollar pay off from Lex Luthor. Batman travels to Metropolis to investigate the Joker's apperance in the city and ends up running into Superman. There is a great moment between the two when they determine eachother's secret identity (quite possibly the best sequence in the movie). Now they must put aside their differences to work together before Joker destroys all of Metropolis!

The Batman Vs Dracula
Taking place a few season into "The Batman", this direct to DVD release features The Batman vs Joker vs Penguin vs Dracula. Penguin and Joker escape from Arkham in search of some hidden stash of loot. The search leads them to a cemetary where Penquin accidentally awakens Dracula! Dracula hypontizes Penguin into serving him and the two set out to take control of Gotham. People start going missing all around Gotham and the Batman is blamed for the disappearances. This story also introduces Vicki Vale (voiced by Tara Strong from Batman: The Animated Series) for the first time in any DC animated project.

Overall
I think that it is great that Warner is re-releasing all of their DC Animated projects on DVD. These double feature sets have been quite entertaining and help to fill in the gaps left by the DC Complete series boxsets. Batman has already been released, but Superman and Justice League complete series are coming out in the next few months. This set continues to hold up to the standards of the previous releases. If you missed out on these movies the first time around, then this is the set for you.

ComicsOnline gives Batman vs Dracula / The Batman-Superman Movie 4 out of 5 Batarangs.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
