Giveaway – Kranburn Collected Edition – FEC Extravaganza Comics Launch in Melbourne

Hold on to your hats, hairpieces or anything else that may be attached to your scalp, because the launch event for Ben Michael Byrne’s amazing Kranburn Issue 4 is only a bit over a week away!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this series, Kranburn tells the story of Brand and the dangers he faces daily as he lives out his life in a post-apocalyptic Australia, specifically the Eastern Melbourne (or “Mellburn”) suburbs such as Hallam (“Hellum”), Dandenong (“The Nong”) and of course the titular town of Cranbourne (“Kranburn”). In a nutshell it is very, very good, and don’t be surprised if you see a review for the first few issues up on our website real soon…

Being held at the fabulous All Star Comics (Level 1, 410 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne) on Saturday the 22nd of September from 6:30PM, the “FEC Extravaganza” will be taking place, and as a special bonus two more FEC Comics books will be released alongside Kranburn (check out the FEC Facebook link here for more details).

And as an even special-er bonus, ComicsOnline (thanks to the generous donation by FEC Comics) is giving Australian fans the chance to win an ultra-exclusive, ridiculously rare and super-collectable over-sized edition of the first three issues of Kranburn, plus five pages of exclusive bonus art, all collected in the one book. And to top it all off, it’s creator Ben Michael Byrne has also included a signed sketch inside the front cover. By the way, did we mention that there are only FIVE COPIES OF THIS BOOK IN THE ENTIRE WORLD? Believe us when we say this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own this incredible piece of artwork.

But if you think we are simply going to give this rare artifact away with nary a care, then think again my naive friend! The winner of this book will be the person who provides the most creative, humorous or just plain bizarre answer to the following question:

The apocalypse is fast approaching Australia. What suburb would you choose to seek refuge and begin to rebuild society in, and why?

Post your answers on the ComicsOnline Facebook page, and remember that this competition is available to Australian residents only. Entries will close on Thursday the 20th of September and the winner will be announced on Facebook on Friday the 21st.

If you can be in Melbourne on the 22nd of September, do yourself a massive favor and head down to All Star Comics (the address again for those not paying attention is Level 1, 410 Lonsdale Street) for the FEC Extravaganza that kicks-off at 6:30PM, for an evening of fun and merriment and sweet comic book bliss.

Audio visual multimedia extraordinaire (at least in his own mind), Aussie Dave dragged Jayden into this glorious den of geek pop culture, and it's gonna take more than what you can offer to drag him away. Unless you bribe him with Ninja Turtles related merchandise... then all bets are off.
