When we last saw Captain Marvel, she was in the fighting her toughest battle yet, battle of wits with a group of teenagers who had her on the ropes.  Before she was able to get through to them, a portal to space opened up and sucked Carol and the teens and two more innocent bystanders out to the dregs of the universe.  She has no idea where they are, who sent them there and how she is going to get these smart mouthed teens and the others back home to Earth. Speaking of Earth, how is it that every super hero except Spider-Woman is off the planet?! What calvary is there to round up and come to the rescue?

Ann has given us an intense, action-fueled storyline filled with dynamic characters.  I love to see the internal monologues that cross the minds of Carol and Nitro as they figure out what their role in this story is.  She showcases that even the strongest heroes or villains can doubt their choices and that makes them just as vulnerable and human and the angsty teens intertwined in this story.  Paolo’s art is stunning and drives home the all the turmoil and suspense driven in Ann’s writing. I am loving this story arc and I cannot wait for the next issue with the introduction of the Feral Five!
