We’ve officially reached the midpoint of Alan Scott’s epic limited series. After three stunning issues, it should be no surprise that the creative team continues to deliver another powerful story with the release of issue four. The backstory of the Red Lantern takes center stage for this special chapter, adding an impressive twist to Alan’s history that makes it even more tragic. How exactly did Vlad become the Red Lantern, and how did Alan unknowingly aid his soviet spy mission? The love of his life now stands before our hero as a twisted reflection of the man he once knew, and if you think you know how he will react…think again.

Every single member of the creative team brought their A-Game for this issue. There are some truly personal moments towards the end of the book that were my absolute favorites (you’ll know it when you see it), and I loved the hints of mythology that were subtly peppered into the dialogue. This story is a prime example of why I love reading comics. If you haven’t been reading this book, now is the time to catch up as Alan Scott: The Green Lantern keeps getting better with each new installment. The character moments are incredibly raw and genuinely impressive. Now we just have to wait a month to see what happens after that final panel…

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
