Comic Book Review: Action Comics #1085

by Hunter Evans, Guest Reporter

Superman is back in action for an Arctic Assault! This comic really caught my attention as soon as I saw the title and the artwork. G. Willow Wilson, Gavin Guidry, Trish Mulvihill, and Dave Sharpe bring you an awesome adventure about Superman and his adventure in Northern Greenland! I haven’t been reading Action lately so I was happy to see that this comic is easy to jump in on. I think any comic fan would enjoy this issue.

Official Description:
Knowing he needs a break from the expectations and pressures of Metropolis, Lois sends Clark to the arctic to investigate a new technology that promises to halt global warming. But when Clark arrives, he discovers that the scientific outpost has been plagued by a villain hoping to melt humanity’s hopes for survival. Sounds like a job for Superman!

As soon as you open Action Comics #1085, the art details pop out at you. The cover art is amazing. As you read through the comic you can see the impressive amount of detail the author and artists have put into this comic. I particularly enjoyed liked the cyborg polar bears you see near the start of the comic. They try to attack the civilians in the lab but Superman grabs them and saves the day.

Near the end of Action Comics #1085, Superman encounters a giant robot that emerges from the ground. The robot flings Superman into the air and tries to punch him, but the robot’s punches were weak and did not affect him. Superman grabs him by the fist and tosses him through the sky, flinging him. The robot rushes towards the lab prepared to destroy the building, but luckily Superman dashes to the robot and uses his ice breath to stop the robot in its tracks.

But then Superman hears a voice and he turns around and sees Kilg%re! He plans to use the cyborg polar bears against Superman! To be continued!

Rating: ★★★★★
ComicsOnline gives Action Comics #1085 5 out of 5 cyborg polar bears. I hope you enjoy this comic as much as I do!
