TV Review: The Walking Dead – “Nebraska”

by Kroze Kresky, Media Editor

The Walking Dead finally returns to AMC tonight (after its gun smoking cliffhanger a few months back) with a brand new episode “Nebraska”. After the loss of Sophie, everyone at Herschel’s farm is not in the best of moods when this episode picks up. Rick and our crew of survivors are immedately told to leave the farm by Herschel, who blames Rick for everything that has befallen his family so far. Now the two crews must learn to deal with each other’s presences despite their grievances.

This return episode doesn’t feel much like a mid-season opening at all and continues the plodding feeling that most of Season 2 has been thus far. For much of this episode it seems like nothing really happens and none of the ongoing storylines really progress in any signifigant way. We get a little bit of development between Glenn and Maggie with their relationship as well as some understanding between Herschel and Rick.

So far Season 2 has not kept up with the pacing or the quality that Season 1 brought to the table, and this episode doesn’t improve much of the problems with the season currently. In the comics, they were done with The Farm way sooner then how much they are dragging it out here. Here’s hoping that the rest of the back half of the season brings us some more action or development compared to what we have been getting. They need to pick up the pace and focus on some legitmate threats to the group…Sitting around on a farm and waiting for zombies to attack is getting old…

ComicsOnline givies The Walking Dead – “Nebraska” 3 out of 5 chances to move the season along.
