TV Review: The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes – “The Private War of Doctor Doom”

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!

by Kroze Kresky, Media Editor, and Matt Sernaker, Managing Editor

This Sunday, The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes returns for Season 2, which features an apperance by the Fantastic Four. Marvel was kind enough to screen the episode early at WonderCon 2012!

Let me just get the bad pun out of the way right now… and say that every scene that had The Hulk and The Thing going at it was Fantastic! The interaction between these two dynamic superhero teams is handled with care, providing some memorable moments. So what happens in this episode? Dr. Doom decides to attack while Tony and Wasp are visiting Sue Storm and Reed Richards at the Baxter Building while Johnny and The Thing visit the Avengers HQ for a nice quiet game of poker. The attack happens at both places at once leaving the two teams trying to put the pieces together on what Doom is after and why. The ending which builds on previously established events will make fans squeal with delight!

The Season 1 finale of The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes provided fans with a glimpse of the future for our heroes, and it looks like we will be getting the animated equivalent of the recent comic story line Secret Invasion! With cameos from other Marvel heroes looming, Season 2 is definitely something that fans will not want to miss!

ComicsOnline gives The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes – “The Private War of Doctor Doom” 5 new costumes out of 5.

Keep assembling at ComicsOnline.com for more Avengers coverage, and for everything geek pop culture!
