Blu-ray Review: Superman: The Motion Picture Anthology 1978-2006

Walking is for suckers

by Matt Sernaker, Senior Editor

It’s a bird!
It’s a plane!
It’s the Superman Motion Picture Anthology 1978-2006, now available for you to own on Blu-ray!

Watch as Superman takes on Lex Luthor, General Zod, Lex Luthor, Richard Pryor, Lex Luthor, and….(wait for it…) LEX LUTHOR! Wow…that’s not a lot of variety in the villain department, and really, listing Richard Pryor as the “villain” of Superman III is kind of a stretch. Now fans can witness all of the cinematic adventures of The Man of Steel in glorious high definition in this new 8-disc set.

Blu-ray Review: Hotel Rwanda

“I think if people see this footage they’ll say, “Oh my God that’s horrible,” and then go on eating their dinners.”

by Brenda Waldrop, Media Editor

Sadly, as chronicled in the epic film Hotel Rwanda, that’s precisely what most of the world did.  In April of 1994 they sat back, eating their dinners and living their lives, while they watched as a genocide claiming the lives of over 800,000 Rwandans raged in a country that most people had barely heard of.  Based on the true story of Paul Rusesabagina, expertly portrayed by Don Cheadle, who saved over 1,200 Tutsi’s during the 100 day genocide in 1994.

iPad Game Review: Thor Son of Asgard

by Caleb Paullus, Media Editor, Games

You’ve seen the movie right? If you haven’t read our review on it and then get your butt into a theater and watch it already!

Okay, you’re back, you’ve seen the movie. Now, buy the game on your iPad or iPhone! Thor: Son of Asgard, now available in the App Store, is a fun game where players assume the role of Thor and take an epic journey to defend Odin’s Kingdom.

Let me clarify that the game has NOTHING to do with the movie. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but don’t buy the gaming thinking it’s based off the movie.

Movie Review: Thor

FUCKING THOR! By Caleb Paullus

by Caleb Paullus Media Editor

The God of Hammer-Stroking. Guardian of Asgard.

Let me start off by saying that its difficult to watch a movie for an hour and fourteen minutes when your blood is no longer rushing to your brain. Lucky for you, you don’t need a brain to enjoy this fantastic expansion of the Marvel Universe, Thor.

Don’t see this movie if you are going to try and compare it to just the recent Marvel films released (Iron Man, Iron Man II, The Incredible Hulk) you will be disappointed. However if you look at it comparing it to every Marvel film released in the last twenty years, then you will very satifyied.

TV Review: Young Justice “Independence Day” Series Premiere

There comes a time in life where you must decide the type of person that you are going to become. For Robin, Speedy, Aqualad, and Kid Flash, the time to stand up and be acknowledged is at hand. For years these four have been recognized only as “sidekicks”, but now the Justice League has invited them to begin the process of joining the big leagues. When things don’t go exactly as planned on their big day, the sidekicks must decide whether or not to take matters into their own hands and use what they were taught to help others…even if the League disapproves. Welcome to the series premiere of Young Justice, the new series airing on Cartoon Network, created by Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood) and friend of ComicsOnline, Greg Weisman (Spectacular Spider-Man). So how does this series hold up in comparison to the abundance of DC Animated projects that we have grown to love?

DVD Review: Legend of the Seeker Season 2

The second and final season of Legend of the Seeker picks up immediately where season one left off.  The Seeker (Craig Horner) has saved the day, but in doing so he’s created a potentially bigger problem for the world, opening a rift to the underworld and allowing the Keeper to gain a foothold in the land of the living.
